Are your apprentices sleeping like a log?
Did you know, only 32% of 16-24 year olds say they sleep well? In 2016, 63.1% of Brits said they were not happy with the amount of sleep they were getting.
So what’s the problem? It could be what we are taking to bed.
88% of 16-24’s take a mobile phone to bed, but taking these gadgets into the bedroom can cause ‘electronic insomnia’. Exposure to bright lights from computer or mobile phone screens while we’re in bed can interfere with our circadian rhythm, or body clock. We naturally start winding down around 9pm, but this can be interrupted by exposure to bright light from our gadgets. Our bodies stop secreting the sleep hormone and a good night’s sleep could well be doomed!
