Are your employees hydrating for their health?
Are your employees consuming the recommended daily water consumption?
It is recommended that male adults need to consume 3.7 litres and 2.7 litres for female adults.
The human body is approximately 60% water, the brain and heart 73% and the lungs 83% water. Water is a key component of our biological functions:
- maintaining the body’s core temperature
- increasing cognitive function
It is no secret that not drinking enough water can have a negative impact on health in both the short term and the long term. Short term health implications include headaches, lethargy, joint pain and loss of concentration. Long term health implications include kidney damage and cognitive impairment both of which will result in distraction from work and lower productivity or even increasing employee absence.
