Apprentices stand and deliver!
A whopping 20 million adults in the UK are physically inactive. In total, we sit for around 74-78 days a year!
The impact of physical inactivity and sedentary lifestyles costs the UK healthcare system almost £1.2 billion a year, but 60% of adults aren’t even aware what the Government’s physical activity guidelines are.
Spread the word and get your apprentices standing to deliver and not sitting down on the job. For ages 19-64 we should be on the move for 150 minutes a week of moderate-intensity aerobic activity for at least 10 minutes each time or alternatively we should be vigorously active for 75 minutes per week. You should also exercise your major muscle groups twice or more a week with muscle-strengthening exercises.
Why not ask your apprentices to think up new ways of working to increase their movement in the workplace and manoeuvre their way around the office!
