How can we help SME’s launch health and wellbeing programmes ?
The London Economic shared a great report that detailed eight out of ten of Britain’s small and medium sized businesses don’t have a health and wellbeing strategy in place.
Despite attitudes towards wellbeing in the workplace generally improving a whopping 82 per cent of SME business leaders confessed they don’t have a process in place – but half said they would like to have one.
AXA PPP healthcare CEO Tracy Garrad said: “Burnout is now recognised by the World Health Organisation as an occupational phenomenon. It’s becoming a workplace epidemic that poses significant risks for small businesses. The reality is small businesses make up more than half the UK’s total workforce and their employees are crying out for greater support.”
So here are some thoughts:
· Large companies, can you support your supplier base and share the H&W programmes you are running?
· H&W network groups – It’s hard within a SME to get mornings/time off to attend sessions – can you host one at a SME ?
· Accountants/law firms – can you help promote H&W campaigns to your client base
Where there is a will there is a way …….
