Initiative Gridlock – think about your mental health
I am very privileged to chat to what I consider to be brilliant leaders most week, those who care about the wellbeing of their colleagues and communities, are open to challenge, willing to take a breath and reflect on doing things differently.
As we all transition back to the ‘new norm’ many of us are talking about the sense of being overwhelmed with what is being called ‘Initiative Gridlock’. Individually, each project makes sense, but when launched simultaneously, with no regard for strategic alignment or prioritisation, we see great line managers burn out, mental health suffers and engagement can plummet.
So, take a breath and take time to collectively look at how we put our colleague’s wellbeing at the centre of any initiatives and watch your organisation thrive through change.
